Con le sue immagini solarizzate del sole, Schink, artista tedesco, ha costruito una vera e propria mappatura di alcune località del mondo facendosi guidare dalla posizione degli astri nei rispettivi emisferi, boreale ed australe. Ad un approfondito studio preliminare ha fatto seguito la ricerca sul campo condotta dal fotografo nel corso di successive missioni ed esplorazioni. Allo spostamento è succeduto il tempo dell’attesa (1h), elemento sostanziale della fissità e fondamento della fotografia. Attraverso le sue stampe Schink giunge ad attribuire ad un fenomeno del tutto normale, come il moto temporale che si compie nell’arco di ogni giorno, quel carattere di stupore e meraviglia proprio dell’enigma fotografia.

With his solarized images of the sun, Schink, a German artist, built a real mapping of some places of the world being guided by the stars position in the northern and southern hemispheres.
After an exhaustive preliminary study, the photographer made a field research during following missions and explorations. The movement is followed by the waiting time of one hour, which is the main element of fixity and the basis of photography. Through his images Shink gives to a normal phenomenon, such as the temporal motion ending everyday, the enigma photo quality of amazement and astonishment.

Hans-Christian Schink

(Erfurt, Germania, 1961). Dal 1986 al 1991 studia fotografia alla Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (HGB) Leipzig (Accademia di Arti Visive) e consegue il Master nel 1993.
Ha ricevuto diverse borse di studio, residenze d’artista e premi; nel 2008 vince il REALE Photography Award ING. Sue personali sono state esposte a: Küppersmühle MKM Museum  für Moderne Kunst, Duisburg; Neues Museum Weimar, Angermuseum, Erfurt, Kunstmuseum Dieselkraftwerk,Cottbus (2011); Landesgalerie Linz al Landesmuseum Oberösterreichisches, Linz (2010), Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Salta e Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes Dr. Genaro Pérez, Córdoba, Argentina (2008), Martin Gropius Bau di Berlino (2004). Tra le pubblicazioni monografiche: Flaming (Giappone Super Labo, 2012), Hans-Christian Schink (2011),1h (2010), Verkehrsprojekte / Traffic Projects (2004) (Germania, Hatje Cantz) e LA (Austria, Fotohof Edition, 2004).

From 1986–91 he studied photography at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (HGB) Leipzig (Academy of Visual Arts) and received his Master’s degree there in 1993.  In 2002 he was Artist in residence at the Villa Aurora, Los Angeles and in 2012 at the Villa Kamogawa, Kyoto. He received various grants and awards, in 2008 he was named winner of the ING REAL Photography Award. Solo exhibitions of his work were held at MKM Museum Küppersmühle für Moderne Kunst, Duisburg; Neues Museum Weimar; Angermuseum, Erfurt; Kunstmuseum Dieselkraftwerk, Cottbus (2011); Landesgalerie Linz at the Oberösterreichisches Landesmuseum, Linz (2010); Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Salta and Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes Dr. Genaro Pérez, Córdoba, Argentina (2008); Martin Gropius Bau Berlin (2004) and others. Selected monographic publications are Fläming (2012) (Super Labo, Japan), Hans-Christian Schink (2011), 1h (2010), Verkehrsprojekte/Traffic Projects (2004) (Hatje Cantz, Germany) and LA (2004) (Fotohof Edition, Austria).
